First thoughts when thinking of gypsies include fluorescent-colored fabrics, millions of gold bangles and going barefoot, but after being inspired by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot's Gypsy with a Tambourine painting and glass cathedral windows, Josep Font's spring collection reveals perhaps another kind of gypsy, in the form of sheer draping, delicate pleating, effortlessly crafted sweetheart necklines, voluminous skirts and suddenly swept off my feet by such an elegant and ladylike take on lbohème.

Can't quite get enough of the drama and the romance and the oozing easiness that moves in each piece. Another thing to love about this collection (as if there aren't enough reasons) - various options for the feminine and also for the tomboy - have been known to switch between the two like day and night! The sexiest sheer button down, carefully crafted high-waisted shorts and perfectly knit sweaters...so much to adore.

Had a habit of re-watching all favorite cartoon movies over and over again in younger years. Next to The Swan Princess, Thumbelina was a top favorite. There is something about Georges Hobeika's couture line this spring/summer that takes me back to Thumbelina...the possibility of fairies existing and wearing baby dolls with what seems like vines and leaves running down the fabric, the beauty of dreamy, light colors twinkling in cropped tops embellished with a thousand tiny pearls, and sheer elegant gowns...it could be true that even mythical creatures like fairies inspire us in our every day dreams.

Victoria's Secret's Angels may have to replace their show's trademark angel wings for a pair of Aristocrazy's gilded ones!

Seen on the 2014-2015 fall/winter runway, these show stopping pieces are quite bold, and yet, have a bit of an angelic luxe appeal. Have always thought that such exquisite wear could only be rocked by the Grecian goddesses of the heavens above, but Aristocrazy has now proven that an earthly approach is quite possible too.

There's also the thousands of fine chains, as seen below, that move smoothly, and the industrial chic appeal to the screws woven into the necklaces, among other jewelry pieces.

Now having particular visions of being that Angel with these gilded wings, adding a bit of a glamorous rock 'n roll touch while walking down the concrete jungle runway...

Visual Vignette: Perfectly Peachy

Visual Vignette: Perfectly Peachy

After falling into what seemed like an extended lull from all the celebrations, am slowly getting back into the routine of things, from writing many, many cards officially in the mail today, to dressing in his & hers & heels at the office - it's time to get back to the reality of packing for an upcoming move, cleaning a purposely messy apartment and a new weekend, soon, dedicated to to-do lists and more birthday and anniversary planning for M and I.

Though busy, have been taking the time to stop and smell the beautiful roses, as seen above from my parents, that sit in my living room, bathing in the sunlight creeping through the patio windows. The bright hue of coral these roses evoke takes me back to a surprise birthday party, which my dear sister had planned and bought a dress in the shade of coral for me to wear, and also reminds me of my love for such a color...in lipstick, in blush, in pretty dresses and suddenly everything just seems perfectly peachy as spring is now officially here.

Visual Vignette: In The Mood For Golden Mustard & Easter Pink

Visual Vignette: In The Mood For Golden Mustard & Easter Pink

Came across these playful sandals from Teresa Helbig's 2014 fall runway and have since been seeing the combination of a bit of gold, a bit of yellow mustard and lots of Easter pink here and there. Crazy about these sandals, I've a thing for sky-high, thick wooden heels, such a nod to the 1970s and an obvious hint of my love for vintage aesthetics.

Quite a coincidence, seeing that I'm planning on dyeing this skirt (I have two) into a pink and a grey color for an update.

Beauty Musings | Backstage Belles: Gucci F/W 2014

Beauty Musings | Backstage Belles: Gucci F/W 2014

In lieu of the serious sexiness the Gucci woman typically oozes from her pores, on the 2014 fall winter runway she opted for something on the sweeter, sixties side.  Marianne Faithfull immediately comes to mind, with the models' perfectly messy and kept hair. The touch of whimsy played out with lots of liner, falsies on the top and bottom lashes and opened eyes, thanks to the beige liner on the waterline, this lush look is wonderfully accomplished for the runway.

The dramatic, doll like eyes has me wanting to try on a pair of lashes, though I've never been successful, am thinking that now is the time to try again.

Not a fan of flatform shoes, for at first look it's a little too tomboyish for my preference, but Katie Ermilio's Spring 2014 collection just might make me a convert! The pairing of flatforms with a loose dress that has a pleated skirt trim, and even with a collarless coat with rabbit fur in the front - it's such an innovative way to tone down my most favorite feminine elements in pastel!

Pieces from this collection have recently been worn by Krysten Ritter, at an art exhibition in Santa Ana, not too far from where I reside, looking as dashing and delicate as ever, and also Kate Bosworth, in the coolest, simplest of ways.

Each piece just makes me want to say hello to the weekend as I'm out and about for brunch, in downtown and out with my darlings. And since today is Friday and I consider Friday the beginning of a weekend...hello weekend!
