Fashion Musings | From the Runway: Chloé Resort 2015

Fashion Musings | From the Runway: Chloé Resort 2015 Fashion Musings | From the Runway: Chloé Resort 2015 There's always an ease of movement, of attitude (more specifically, joie de vivre), to the Chloè collection and unlike the edginess of jewel tones with Antonio Berardi's collection, there are graphic blocks and fluid shapes that contribute to this everlasting laid-back feminine. The "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" star channels her ladylike side while lounging and sun-soaking poolside for Cosmopolitan Turkey. Dressed in all white for summer, including a crop top and a sheer top with feather embellishments and hanging poolside with sexy tousled hair never looked so glamorous...

Fashion Musings | From the Runway: Antonio Berardi Resort 2015

Admittedly later than most for sharing resort collections, but as a very famous saying has it, better late than never...and so, starting this series with what is possibly the most favorite of the resort 2015 collections, by Antonio Berardi.

For what may be a lifetime, have constantly had an inner battle between choosing to be super girly or serious tomboy, and it wasn't until the discovery of Chloé some few years ago realizing that both could be possible!

Berardi's late sixties and early seventies inspired pieces in this collection features a mix of laid back feminine with a nod to edginess and structured volume in vivid color schemes and rich textiles, concluding to a fine balance for all who can't seem to choose between one or the other.

First thoughts when thinking of gypsies include fluorescent-colored fabrics, millions of gold bangles and going barefoot, but after being inspired by Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot's Gypsy with a Tambourine painting and glass cathedral windows, Josep Font's spring collection reveals perhaps another kind of gypsy, in the form of sheer draping, delicate pleating, effortlessly crafted sweetheart necklines, voluminous skirts and suddenly swept off my feet by such an elegant and ladylike take on lbohème.

Can't quite get enough of the drama and the romance and the oozing easiness that moves in each piece. Another thing to love about this collection (as if there aren't enough reasons) - various options for the feminine and also for the tomboy - have been known to switch between the two like day and night! The sexiest sheer button down, carefully crafted high-waisted shorts and perfectly knit sweaters...so much to adore.

Had a habit of re-watching all favorite cartoon movies over and over again in younger years. Next to The Swan Princess, Thumbelina was a top favorite. There is something about Georges Hobeika's couture line this spring/summer that takes me back to Thumbelina...the possibility of fairies existing and wearing baby dolls with what seems like vines and leaves running down the fabric, the beauty of dreamy, light colors twinkling in cropped tops embellished with a thousand tiny pearls, and sheer elegant gowns...it could be true that even mythical creatures like fairies inspire us in our every day dreams.

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Zoe Saldana for The Edit

Laser-cut lace, large white leather tote bags, crop tops and knitted camisoles in an abundance of ladylike white...Zoe Saldana's appearance in The Edit for NET-A-PORTER very much reminds me of a recent closet editing just prior to moving this April.

Tucking away all the heavy, knitted grey sweaters and wool coats in exchange for delicately appropriate whites and lace detailed blouses and of course, anything floral patterned, and all this spring cleaning signals days ahead full of cool, floral-laden air and romance blooming...

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Nautical Nights

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Nautical Nights

Though happy that spring is here at last, these photos of Jessica Gomes, photographed by Margaret Zhang for David Jones, makes me wish for the summer skies and sun-kissed skin!

What could be utterly sexier than wearing a faux fur coat and white pencil skirt, with a simple single gold bracelet for a night cruising along the sea in a yacht with the beau or donning a striped tank when leaving footsteps in the sand? Just might take a much more sensible, sophisticated approach to this year's beach and summer attire...

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Still Life by Claire Pettibone

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Still Life by Claire Pettibone

First, it was SYNDICATE's fashion forward digital garden, and then, earlier, a look at Doloris Petunia's absolutely adorable flower girl dresses and now today, a preview of Claire Pettibone's Still Life collection and the love for anything and everything floral continues!

Set against abstract floral backdrops, each photograph, effortlessly captured by none other than Elizabeth Messina, captures a certain artistry behind Claire Pettibone's impeccable work.

Swooning over these terribly beautiful dresses and photographs, have long been mesmerized by Elizabeth Messina with the dreaminess, lightness of her work and have also always been captivated by Claire Pettibone's breathtaking collections.  Both have collaborated with one another previously and am always stunned by the measure of beauty in everything done together...

Am unsurprisingly whisked away into thoughts of gardens in full bloom, traipsing around in a little white dress against a summer breeze from looking at these photos.

“In the second half of the 17th century, the art of the floral still life reached the height of fashion. Dramatic arrangements of flora and fauna, insects and fruits, set against dramatic dark backgrounds exude a mysterious romanticism. The brilliance of nature’s beauty is highlighted to dramatic effect, just as the bride becomes the center of our attention. Painterly butterflies and floral details grade delicate silks and laces gilded in gold, glowing as if lit from within. Oh, the unexplainable mystery of love! Be still my heart…still in love…still life.” Claire Pettibone

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Glittering Nights & Flashing Lights

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Glittering Nights & Flashing Lights
Fashion Musings | Editorial: Glittering Nights & Flashing Lights

Could remember my love for all things sparkly since I was young, but could never find just the right amount of sparkle on a skirt or a blouse without bordering an '80s costume vibe. Just recently coveted a black sequin pencil skirt with the sexiest little side slit just before 2013 ended and in time for a little new year's eve rendezvous, and shortly after, a silver mermaid sequin skirt and it was then that I knew my sparkle madness had only just begun!

There's only one thing more perfect than exploring the city itself - and that's wearing something glitzy while exploring the city at night. The Lane's "Glittering Nights" bridal spread proves that the flashing lights and gritty streets of the city life is the perfect juxtaposing backdrop for such glorious, opulent dresses.

And there's something about the disheveled glamour and effortless prose of the wild-hearted LANE lady in these photos that takes me back to the night of New Year's Eve when M and I quietly spent time together nearby my apartment, all dressed up for the occasion of the holiday, but not for the occasion of a midnight movie viewing. Am now certain that a sequin skirt is a must for my next night out in the city...perhaps for M's birthday or our upcoming anniversary dinner?

Victoria's Secret's Angels may have to replace their show's trademark angel wings for a pair of Aristocrazy's gilded ones!

Seen on the 2014-2015 fall/winter runway, these show stopping pieces are quite bold, and yet, have a bit of an angelic luxe appeal. Have always thought that such exquisite wear could only be rocked by the Grecian goddesses of the heavens above, but Aristocrazy has now proven that an earthly approach is quite possible too.

There's also the thousands of fine chains, as seen below, that move smoothly, and the industrial chic appeal to the screws woven into the necklaces, among other jewelry pieces.

Now having particular visions of being that Angel with these gilded wings, adding a bit of a glamorous rock 'n roll touch while walking down the concrete jungle runway...
