In The Spotlight | Featured Shops: Vivian Chan

In The Spotlight | Featured Shops: Vivian Chan
You may have seen a photo feature in the first Le Weekend & Links to Love post and thought it'd be the perfect moment to introduce the brand, Vivian Chan, as today's featured shop.

In The Spotlight | Featured Shops: Vivian Chan

Came across Vivian Chan through a local photographer and, admittedly, have been obsessing over each and every piece, from the initial collection to the recent summer 2014 release!

There's a clear resemblance of edginess and a strong pull towards femininity to each outfit (see Annie top) and this edgy and feminine look has always been a favorite, next to the soft and sexy, and laid back feminine.

Founded and made in Los Angeles, California, Vivian Chan provides that perfect ounce of playful pop in each design. Each piece is appropriately named by other people who've personally influenced the designer's life.
I consider each piece I make my prayers for women. - Vivian Chan
A few favorite pieces include the Rosie skirt (such a fitting name & pictured on right above), the appropriately feminine masculine Raymond dress, and the sexy slip Parker dress.

Fashion Musings | From the Runway: Chloé Resort 2015 Fashion Musings | From the Runway: Chloé Resort 2015 There's always an ease of movement, of attitude (more specifically, joie de vivre), to the Chloè collection and unlike the edginess of jewel tones with Antonio Berardi's collection, there are graphic blocks and fluid shapes that contribute to this everlasting laid-back feminine. Fashion Musings | Editorial: Devon Windsor For Numero #151 Fashion Musings | Editorial: Devon Windsor For Numero #151 Remember the elegant, modern gypsy from Delpozo and the Thumbelina-like fairies of Georges Hobeika from earlier this spring? There's never a shortage of mystic and magic around here and today, Billy Kidd brings Devon Windsor to life as a Nymphe for Numèro's March 2014 edition (#151). This charming shoot is ethereal and dreamy, in Balmain, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana and Balenciaga and who wouldn't want to be a nymph as well? Favorite element of Burberry Prorsum's 2015 resort collection is the varietal pencil skirts, ranging in faded colors, fabrics and textures, a reminder of a crush on feathers. These would be perfect to pair with knits, shirts and collars if one chooses and the dip-dyed lace trench is a magnificent update to the classic trench coat!

The "Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" star channels her ladylike side while lounging and sun-soaking poolside for Cosmopolitan Turkey. Dressed in all white for summer, including a crop top and a sheer top with feather embellishments and hanging poolside with sexy tousled hair never looked so glamorous...

In The News | Weddings: Erica Pelosini & Louis Leeman

Often enjoy perusing through various blogs and collections for utterly romantic and undeniably whimsical wedding photographs, such as the most recent of Kim and Kanye, and have always dreamed of hosting similar...until The Coveteur's editorial style photo album from Erica Pelosini and Louis Leeman's destination wedding in Italy were released and am now entirely reconsidering traditional romance for something more upbeat, daring and edgy as illustrated in Pelosini and Leeman's recent extravaganza.

In The News | Weddings: Erica Pelosini & Louis Leeman

Pelosini, Italian stylist and street style extrovert, met Leeman, Dutch shoe designer, at fashion school in Florence, Italy nine years ago and have since married their opposite, yet highly compatible tastes together to form the line, Louis Leeman, a true collaboration of uptown and downtown vibes for the eponymous handmade penny loafers.

The resort style wedding was cast away in majestic Capri where an unfailing sun shed light all weekend long. Cocktails and dinner underneath fragrant lemon trees at Da Paolino, custom designed Mary Katrantzou dresses for the bridal party over a poolside brunch, a ceremony at Certosa di San Giacomo and white balloons that were released after the couple exchanged vows were among the itinerary plans.

There was, literally, a sea of bridesmaids in navy blue Pucci dresses, along with Pelosini, in a custom-made Peter Dundas wedding dress, a true combination of modern elegance and romantic boho which featured a lattice criss-cross neckline trimmed with pompoms and a sensational high-low skirt with a striking asymmetrical train. Pelosini paired her dress with white lace-up Aquazzura sandals and a simple daisy bouquet.

The weekend ended with a late lunch and boat ride at il Riccio Beach Club and no newly weds have ever looked so radiant and madly in love...

Admittedly later than most for sharing resort collections, but as a very famous saying has it, better late than never...and so, starting this series with what is possibly the most favorite of the resort 2015 collections, by Antonio Berardi.

For what may be a lifetime, have constantly had an inner battle between choosing to be super girly or serious tomboy, and it wasn't until the discovery of Chloé some few years ago realizing that both could be possible!

Berardi's late sixties and early seventies inspired pieces in this collection features a mix of laid back feminine with a nod to edginess and structured volume in vivid color schemes and rich textiles, concluding to a fine balance for all who can't seem to choose between one or the other.

In The News | Weddings: Kim Kardashian & Kanye West in Vogue

Although not necessarily new news, had wanted to share that despite much controversy over the Kanye West and Kim Kardashian feature on US Vogue cover of April 2014, am taking the time to admire this beautifully composed photo, taken by Annie Leibovitz, of Kim walking hand–in–hand with Kanye along the River Seine in Paris.

Plus, am finding it difficult to remove eyes from the breathtaking Alexander McQueen dress that Kim is ever so effortlessly parading in. Completely magnificent and utterly romantic photo...

Inspired Outfit: A Beach's Breeze

There are plans of a full day's visit to San Diego this Saturday, and hoping a certain favorite dessert spot is involved, but mostly looking forward to the Gaslamp Quarter and being closer to the bay...then there has been talk of a cruise trip for sometime next month (long overdue), and looking forward to travels on sea.

Still craving for the hot sand between my toes and donning nautical stripes and so, an inspired outfit for all these summer days where the beach's breeze gives me windswept hair and cools down my sun kissed skin...

Couldn't imagine what a perfect pair of ballet flats aren't good for; long, long strolls in the garden, running errands out of the office, and weekends exploring new places in the city to name a few.

Designed and produced by Dori and Michele in London and Berlin, fell in love with The White Ribbon's impeccably simple design of classic ballet flats, made of responsibly sourced, upcycled leather. The soft round toes and abundance of neutral colors (and just recently, some bright ones and patterned ones) make it so hard to choose which one to covet!

Learn more about The White Ribbon. View more photos below, including my favorite, white with lacy straps!
