There's always room for growth in the quick & classic peanut butter & jelly sandwich and so today's recipe switches both main ingredients with a sea salt honey almond butter and strawberries.
A favorite time to indulge in this is as either a pre- or post-workout meal, with the perfect balance of protein, heartiness and sugar for the body. Enjoy!
INGREDIENTS (ALMOND BUTTER)
2 cups unsalted almonds
1 teaspoon agave nectar
1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional add-on)
1 tablespoon honey (optional add-on)
1 scraped vanilla bean (optional add-on)
1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional add-on)
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
On large baking sheet spread out almonds and roast in oven for 10-12 minutes until slightly brown. Be very careful not to burn the nuts.
Pour the almonds into your food processor and process for 10-15 minutes, scraping down the sides as necessary, until buttery. It will happen eventually, promise! If you like yours quite liquid, continue to process. When you've reached your desired texture add in any flavors, like agave nectar and salt.
Transfer to a container or jar and store at room temperature or in fridge. If you store at room temp, just give the almond butter a stir before you use it, as it will separate a bit.
INGREDIENTS (MACERATED BERRIES)
2 cups strawberries, hulled and quartered
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons agave nectar
DIRECTIONS
Combine the lemon juice and agave nectar, then pour over the strawberries in a small bowl. Let the strawberries sit for at least 1 hour, until very juicy.
Keep in the fridge for up to a week until ready to use.

In The Spotlight | Featured Shops: Vivian Chan
You may have seen a photo feature in the first Le Weekend & Links to Love post and thought it'd be the perfect moment to introduce the brand, Vivian Chan, as today's featured shop.
Came across Vivian Chan through a local photographer and, admittedly, have been obsessing over each and every piece, from the initial collection to the recent summer 2014 release!
There's a clear resemblance of edginess and a strong pull towards femininity to each outfit (see Annie top) and this edgy and feminine look has always been a favorite, next to the soft and sexy, and laid back feminine.
Founded and made in Los Angeles, California, Vivian Chan provides that perfect ounce of playful pop in each design. Each piece is appropriately named by other people who've personally influenced the designer's life.
A few favorite pieces include the Rosie skirt (such a fitting name & pictured on right above), the appropriately feminine masculine Raymond dress, and the sexy slip Parker dress.I consider each piece I make my prayers for women. - Vivian Chan

LE WEEKEND & links to love | 08.09.14
Unlike last weekend, where clocking in office hours was the priority, am taking the time to relax and remove energy from the desk to be seaside.
Started the weekend with a last-minute concert last night in the city. Had just discovered the happenings of a festival just a few blocks down, so will be making my way there to see what adventures await there.
Later this evening, there are plans to peruse through an unknown pier with M and friends, then dinner in a beach city...on Sunday morning there's yoga class while overlooking the coast...here's to summer near the sea and wishing you a sun-filled weekend!

Instagram Inspiration | Wanderlust: Paris 07.25.14
Wouldn't know where to begin in explaining how Instagram has become a positive source of inspiration, especially for travel, and so, introducing a new series today with some Instagram inspiration in the form of wanderlust and travel, to the beloved city of Paris, as shared by Catherine of See Creatures. Dream away.
Above, one of Catherine's favorite sculptures at the Museè Rodin. Personally had an opportunity to view a beautiful, unfinished Rodin sculpture recently.

Fashion Musings | From the Runway: Chloé Resort 2015
There's always an ease of movement, of attitude (more specifically, joie de vivre), to the Chloè collection and unlike the edginess of jewel tones with Antonio Berardi's collection, there are graphic blocks and fluid shapes that contribute to this everlasting laid-back feminine.

Style Musings | Décor Desires: A Ballerina's Manhattan Paradise
Ballerinas have such grace, calmness and elegance to their bodily movements and personally have always been mesmerized by the dreamy costumes. Today, step inside a ballerina's (and pianist) Manhattan apartment, designed by 25 year old Sasha Bikoff. With travels and years spent in Paris and Miami, and now residing in New York City herself, it is no wonder she was able to inspirit her client's creative life to create a "closet de curiosities."
There is old world luxury drawn from 1970's glamour and 1950's nostalgia and don't you just love the way Bikoff crafted an artfully antique, yet elegantly modern space?
Bikoff's flawless mixing of patterns results is undeniable, as seen in the foyer and master bedroom, covered in hand-painted de Gournay wallpapers.
Speaking of which, am personally captivated by the room above, the regal canopy bed composed with restful lavender makes this so grand!I am always incorporating foliage and leaves in my spaces because it creates a certain exoticism, as if you are entering another world. - Sasha Bikoff

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Devon Windsor For Numero #151
Remember the elegant, modern gypsy from Delpozo and the Thumbelina-like fairies of Georges Hobeika from earlier this spring? There's never a shortage of mystic and magic around here and today, Billy Kidd brings Devon Windsor to life as a Nymphe for Numèro's March 2014 edition (#151). This charming shoot is ethereal and dreamy, in Balmain, Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana and Balenciaga and who wouldn't want to be a nymph as well? Photos: Cool Chic Style Fashion | Inspiration By Color
