Visual Vignette: Minimalist Clothing Racks

Officially moved out and moved in and surprisingly all unpacked, but am nowhere near organized! Hoping to have some sense of order when there's room for downtime, to rearrange and sort all items, and to create a working space. Must admit, it has been very difficult to share and create without a proper station to inspire and motivate.

And on the topic of organizing, these pretty, pretty and very simple clothing racks in copper, silver and gold, make room for a little closet storage inspiration. Though always striving to display every pair of shoe, coat and dress hanging in the closet, these racks instill an idea to leave just enough space for only the season's wearables. Wondering...could the maximalist in me compromise to such a notion?

Site News | Personal Update: With A Passion...

Site News | Personal Update: With A Passion...

A little sad for the lack of updates and sharing here, but promising that it will all resume hopefully by next weekend!

Have been delightfully busy spending the weekend in the city with M, with a mix of the usual activities such as movies and meals, but there was also a little bit more excitement and change...happenstance that we came across a very magical carousel, so sad that we couldn't enjoy a ride since it was getting very late. Also discovered a little photo booth! We broke a record this weekend with having four separate photos taken of us! At last, there was dim sum and conversations over two bottles of wine with M's family and suddenly, Sunday faded away as if it never meant to arrive...

The busy-ness won't fade away, lots of overtime to be due for work events this weekend, and am reasonably re-considering my site's platform for added functionality and efficiency.

Would be lovely to do more, create more and give more not only here, but elsewhere as well and with that, hope that you, also, are driven with a passion for all things beautiful, like a toss of crisp white blooms perhaps sitting in a vase atop your dinner table or work station, or in that neighborhood that you like to walk through...the air and romance of spring, hope you take the time to enjoy it.

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Nautical Nights

Though happy that spring is here at last, these photos of Jessica Gomes, photographed by Margaret Zhang for David Jones, makes me wish for the summer skies and sun-kissed skin!

What could be utterly sexier than wearing a faux fur coat and white pencil skirt, with a simple single gold bracelet for a night cruising along the sea in a yacht with the beau or donning a striped tank when leaving footsteps in the sand? Just might take a much more sensible, sophisticated approach to this year's beach and summer attire...

Have had a long standing love affair for all things chandelier and upon coming across these striking images, am utterly captivated by the grandeur of it all....these images and more are all housed within the book, ‘Dior: The Legendary Images: Great Photographers and Dior,’ edited by Florence Muller and newly launched along with the exhibition, ‘Dior, images de légende’ (Dior, the legendary images) hosted by the Christian Dior Museum.

The exhibition features connections maintained over time by the iconic French fashion house with the world of photography through more than 200 photographs from famous photographers who've presented the house in their own vision.

Book will be available June 3 on Amazon.

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Still Life by Claire Pettibone

Fashion Musings | Editorial: Still Life by Claire Pettibone

First, it was SYNDICATE's fashion forward digital garden, and then, earlier, a look at Doloris Petunia's absolutely adorable flower girl dresses and now today, a preview of Claire Pettibone's Still Life collection and the love for anything and everything floral continues!

Set against abstract floral backdrops, each photograph, effortlessly captured by none other than Elizabeth Messina, captures a certain artistry behind Claire Pettibone's impeccable work.

Swooning over these terribly beautiful dresses and photographs, have long been mesmerized by Elizabeth Messina with the dreaminess, lightness of her work and have also always been captivated by Claire Pettibone's breathtaking collections.  Both have collaborated with one another previously and am always stunned by the measure of beauty in everything done together...

Am unsurprisingly whisked away into thoughts of gardens in full bloom, traipsing around in a little white dress against a summer breeze from looking at these photos.

“In the second half of the 17th century, the art of the floral still life reached the height of fashion. Dramatic arrangements of flora and fauna, insects and fruits, set against dramatic dark backgrounds exude a mysterious romanticism. The brilliance of nature’s beauty is highlighted to dramatic effect, just as the bride becomes the center of our attention. Painterly butterflies and floral details grade delicate silks and laces gilded in gold, glowing as if lit from within. Oh, the unexplainable mystery of love! Be still my heart…still in love…still life.” Claire Pettibone

Never seized an opportunity to be a flower girl for someone's ceremony, but these completely adorable flower girl dresses from Doloris Petunia make me wish so badly that there was a chance. All dresses are maximized for "twirl-a-bility" and there's French lilac and buttercream lace, layers upon layers of tulle, pearl buttons and velvet sashes...every girl would want to be a flower girl in such dresses!

Dreaming of an adult sized version of the Pamela dress, covered in thousands of hand dyed blush toned petals, with Swarovski crystals, a little reminiscent of the prettily placed floral appliqués from Elena Perminova in GiambattistaValli's embellished mini dress last year and how magnificently feminine and utterly cool that street-styled outfit was...

Could remember my love for all things sparkly since I was young, but could never find just the right amount of sparkle on a skirt or a blouse without bordering an '80s costume vibe. Just recently coveted a black sequin pencil skirt with the sexiest little side slit just before 2013 ended and in time for a little new year's eve rendezvous, and shortly after, a silver mermaid sequin skirt and it was then that I knew my sparkle madness had only just begun!

There's only one thing more perfect than exploring the city itself - and that's wearing something glitzy while exploring the city at night. The Lane's "Glittering Nights" bridal spread proves that the flashing lights and gritty streets of the city life is the perfect juxtaposing backdrop for such glorious, opulent dresses.

And there's something about the disheveled glamour and effortless prose of the wild-hearted LANE lady in these photos that takes me back to the night of New Year's Eve when M and I quietly spent time together nearby my apartment, all dressed up for the occasion of the holiday, but not for the occasion of a midnight movie viewing. Am now certain that a sequin skirt is a must for my next night out in the city...perhaps for M's birthday or our upcoming anniversary dinner?

A little background about M and I: we will have known each other for 10 years a little later this year!

Although I thought I knew M so well the first 8 years, a lot of those hunches and biases have been dissolved into memories of a younger us, categorized by youth, rebellion and naiveness.

Like orphans, we never truly belonged anywhere or to anyone in the same manner in which we quietly belonged to each other in our earlier years.

It seems as if these last two years have been something quite like a rediscovery of each other, and, frankly, an opportunity for us both to let go of our preconceived notions of who we once were so that we can have something better, which is who we are meant to be, together with one another.

I have been the happiest love bird since the universe finally decided it was time to conspire itself, full-fledged, to bring us back together.

So, cheers to us, our anniversary today, and to you, M, my love and my beau, because life with you makes absolutely perfect sense.

Rosie

Visual Vignette: Hello April & Billowy Blues

Visual Vignette: Hello April & Billowy Blues

Hello April! Won't be able to keep up with discovering and uncovering and sharing inspiration this month. Will be very busy with packing, purging and moving into another apartment, among working long hours of work that will flood from the week and pour over into the weekends for upcoming events, including mine and M's anniversary and his birthday...and just yesterday, a very anticipated plan for dinner & dessert at a favorite place outside the county!

And the calendar won't free up until mid-June...there are graduation ceremonies and parties to attend, and birthdays and mothers to celebrate, and, excitingly, a long awaited trip to Chicago at the end of May and into June, to visit a very dear friend of mine!

Despite the busy-ness, there are so many things to look forward to in April and for now, hoping that this inspiration of billowy blues and tulle in the brightest of colors will keep you daydreaming all week, of spring clouds (or cloud cakes!) and summer skies - have a beautiful rest of the week!
